Green and Sustainable Investments

  • In line with our commitment to green manufacturing and the RE100 sustainability initiative, the Company invested NT$2.5 million in 2023 to establish Border New Energy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Border New Energy”). The investment underscores our core values of sustainable development, net-zero emissions, and green renewable energy. Our goal is to achieve low-carbon transformation and energy transition through planned investments in, development of, construction of, and operations and maintenance for renewable energy projects, as well as through assessments and procurement conducted via green energy trading platforms. In addition, Border New Energy is planning the deployment of both large-scale and small-scale energy storage systems to enhance grid resilience and security, fully advancing the path toward green transformation. Ultimately, these efforts support the RE100 vision and our pursuit of comprehensive sustainable green manufacturing.Border New Energy has already achieved notable progress in promoting green energy:
•Solar PV installation: In 2025, Border New Energy completed the installation of a 311.22 kW solar photovoltaic system, expected to generate 320,032 kWh of green electricity annually, equivalent to reducing carbon emissions by 135 tons per year, while also lowering average indoor temperatures by 2 to 3°C.
•Large-scale solar projects: As of 2025, Border New Energy has completed a total of 3.8 MW of solar PV installations. An additional 5.8 MW of solar capacity is scheduled for completion by 2026. These projects are expected to generate an average of 6,525,738 kWh of green electricity annually, equivalent to an annual carbon reduction of 3,230.24 tons—comparable to planting 6,925 trees (approximately 215.44 hectares of forest).
•Long-term carbon-reduction impact: Over a 20-year period, total carbon reduction is estimated to reach 422,732.53 tons, equivalent to the carbon absorption of 1,092 Daan Forest Parks.
•Green certificates: The projects are expected to generate an average of 4,620 Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) annually.
•Future outlook: Border New Energy will continue to assess, invest in, and develop 5 to 10 MW of additional renewable energy capacity in phases, accelerating the growth of green energy and advancing our progress toward achieving RE100 and fully sustainable green manufacturing.
  • In 2024, our company purchased an energy management system for NT$1.5 million to monitor the operation of chillers and air compressors, providing a foundation for future energy consumption management and improvement.
  • In support of international sustainable development, our company invested USD 200,000 in the corporate social responsibility (CSR) bond issued by Shinhan Card Co., Ltd. (Bond Name: P21SHC1, Code: F17601) in 2025. This bond has been certified as a Social Responsibility Bond by the Taipei Exchange.
